Call for Submissions for 3rd Quarter 2024 BREW International Blog Award

The Chrysalis Books, Reviews, and Everything Written (BREW) Project has announced that nominations are now open for the 3rd Quarter 2024 BREW International Blog Award. This prestigious award celebrates the power of storytelling in the digital era by recognising blogs from all corners of the globe that engage readers through useful content, thoughtful analysis, fascinating narratives, and reflective insights on various aspects of the human experience.

The BREW International Blog Award aims to honour digital platforms that have made a significant impact with their content, showcasing the role of bloggers as modern-day storytellers who influence and reflect on cultural landscapes. Whether through informative pieces, insightful commentary, humorous stories, or deep introspection, the award acknowledges blogs that leave a lasting impression and contribute meaningfully to the digital conversation.

BREW welcomes nominations for all blogs and bloggers, whether local or international. This is an opportunity to spotlight exceptional digital content from around the world and to highlight diverse voices and innovative contributions. Esperanza Pretila, founder of The Chrysalis BREW Project, emphasised the significance of the BREW International Blog Award in celebrating global voices and diverse perspectives. “The BREW International Blog Award serves as a platform to recognise and honour outstanding contributions to the blogging community across various genres and topics. It is our goal to highlight exceptional writing that not only informs and entertains but also inspires readers worldwide. This award is an extension of our commitment to fostering excellence and innovation in digital storytelling.”

Submissions for the 3rd Quarter BREW International Blog Award are now ongoing, with a deadline for entries set for 30 September 2024. Winners will be announced in the first or second week of November 2024. Blogs can be submitted under various categories, including Personal Essays and Reflections, Thought Leadership and Commentary, Creative Writing and Storytelling, Humour and Satire, and Special Interest Blogs covering various topics such as health, wellness, books, education, sports, and travel.

Award winners will receive a digital badge to display on their blogs and promotional materials, and their achievements will be featured on the BREW website and other channels. Additionally, winning blogs will automatically be nominated for the Community's Pick and Blog of the Year awards. The Blog of the Year will also be honoured with a digital certificate and will gain global recognition through media coverage across numerous platforms.

To proceed to the next screening stage of the BREW International Blog Award, nominated blogs must meet several essential requirements: they must be written in English, free from harmful codes or links, have at least 12 posts published in the three months prior to nomination, and be active for at least two years. Additionally, blogs should offer relevant, useful, and appropriate content for their intended audience, have a functional contact email or form, and feature a user-friendly interface. Pre-screened entries will be evaluated based on their appearance, uniqueness, usefulness, and the elusive "It" factor, with a maximum total of 100 points. To qualify for shortlisting, a nominee must attain an average of 80 points.
